Meet Our Founders: Oksana & Yuriy Shelkovyy

Oksana Ivanova-Shelkovyy and Yuriy Shelkovyy are widely respected as skilled, knowledgeable, and highly professional dance educators. Known for their ability to inspire and motivate dancers at every level, they bring decades of experience both as teachers and as active competitors on the international stage.

Representing Canada in the Professional Division, Oksana and Yuriy compete at some of the most prestigious and competitive ballroom dance events across North America. Their dedication to excellence has earned them multiple national titles and honors, including:

• Canadian Professional 10-Dance Champions (Ballroom & Latin)
• Six-time Canadian Representatives at the World Professional Dance Championships
• Canadian Professional International Standard Bronze Medalists
• Canadian National Professional Latin Finalists
• Certified national and international adjudicators

As both educators and performers, Oksana and Yuriy understand that continuous training is essential for success. They regularly train with some of the world’s top dance coaches to refine their skills and stay at the forefront of the dance world. Their commitment to personal growth directly benefits their students at Dance With Us Ottawa, where they instill the same passion, discipline, and love of dance—regardless of a student’s age or experience level.

Their talents have also taken them beyond the studio and onto the big screen. Oksana and Yuriy appeared in dance scenes in the feature films Get Smart and Funky Town.

Meet Andre Beaulne – Master Instructor & Dance Professional

Andre is a highly respected and well-known figure in Ottawa’s dance community, with over 25 years of teaching experience that have elevated his expertise to the highest level.

A passionate and dedicated educator, Andre holds prestigious certifications and leadership roles within the dance world:

• Certified by the Canadian Dance Federation (CDF)
• Fellow in Ballroom Dance
• Grand Master of Argentine Tango
• Head of the Argentine Tango Department, CDF
• National Argentine Tango Examiner for the CDF
• Professional Adjudicator
• Choreographer and Performer

In addition to Ballroom and Argentine Tango, Andre is also an accomplished instructor in a variety of other popular dance styles, including:

• Salsa
• West Coast Swing
• Merengue
• Wedding Dance Choreography
